Prime Minister Julia Gillard visited apprentices at The Skills Institute's (TSI) Electrotechnology training facility in Hobart to launch National Skills Week.
The Prime Minister was in Tasmania for a flying visit, but made time to catch up with electrical apprentices at the Campbell St campus, including last year's Australian Apprentice of the Year, Jason Bryan. Also joining them were TSI Customer Relationships Manager, Tony McKinlay, and CEO, Malcolm White.
Approximately 35 first, second and third-year apprentices were on-site during the visit, and the Prime Minister observed training including power generation and simulated telecommunications boards.
